Please help- My Japanese Snowbell tree has scales, how do I get rid of them?

I believe their called scales, those nasty little bugs that lay a cotton-like egg nest under leaves. They look like a tiny brown circle & they suck out sap from my tree, then it looks sickly. It's happened 2 yrs in a row, now they just came back.

We've had the tree sprayed with organic insecticide & we've used safer soap last yr, nothing seems to get rid of those bugs! And they usually spread from my snowbell to my Japanese maples & Yoshino tree. Please help!

parafin based dormant oil such as SunSpray (which i believe you can get at any box stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot)

After 14 years of teaching, research and curriculum development in academia, Dr. Kegley worked as a Senior Scientist for nine years at Pesticide Action Network North America, a non-governmental, non-profit organization that works to promote sustainable alternatives to toxic pesticides.

Dr. Kegley started Pesticide Research Institute in 2006.

How do I rid my cucumbers of leafminers?

This is a container grown plant with cucumbers actively growing, and is located in Southern California. Can you recommend an insecticide or organic method?

Sevin dust will not affect leaf miners in the bit….You simply pull the leaves as you see them the best you can..The insecticides to use to control them are for control of the adult ..not the larvae in the leafs ..I have studied over thjis for years..there is a chemicals like isotex that help, but you use it on NOTHING that you are going to eat…Leaf minors you have to catch the adultas before they lay thier eggs in the leafs..check out this link..They will laugh at sevin dust..
